Subhash Ghai`s envisioned dream is finally seeing the light of the day. After years of planning and strategies Mukta Arts Limited embarked on its far-fetched plan to build the country`s first full-fledged non-government owned film institute called Whistling Woods International (WWI). The Maharashtra Film Stage and Cultural Development Corporation, has allotted 20 acres of land in Film City, Mumbai, for the institute.
The foundation stone of the institute was laid by Maharashtra chief minister, Vilasrao Deshmukh amongst other bigwigs like Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu, Yash Chopra, Rakesh Roshan, Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala, Madhuri, Randhir Kapoor, Tina Anil Ambani to name a few. Ghai aspires to give this institute an international class with a visiting faculty from across the globe. According to him WWI is his way of repaying the film industry and our nation for making him the `Subhash Ghai` he is today. Guess we have a lot to expect from our film industry in the years to come, needless to say some more international remakes.
